THINGS TO DO | |
One of the best ways to explore the heritage of Galle is by visiting the Galle Fort, a magnificent walled city built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. Just 15 minutes from the hotel is Rumassala, a rugged area boasting uncomparable views and an isolated beach. Other natural attractions in the region include the Sinharaja rainforest, the Kottawa Forest Reserve and the Udawalawe National Park with its herds of elephants. The Shakti is a low country Tea Estate and Factory, 15 minutes from the hotel, where visitors can learn how Sri Lanka’s national treasure is produced.
